Mmmm what a wonderful week! The snow was falling, the sun was shining and the break from work and uni was a welcome change. Of course, supervising forty children for a week is quite a task indeed. The 6.00 am wake-ups became quite routine by the end and we had our fair share of controversy (but I’ll refrain from that part since I respect the person involved).
Overall, the weather was on our side. After worrying about the prospect of not having much snow to ski on, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the 15cm dump the day before we arrived a welcome addition to the slopes. Add to that the snow that fell the whole day on Monday and it set up the week for great skiing and boarding. I haven’t been out on the skis when it’s snowing for an extended period so it was a new experience for me even though it made visibility a real challenge. The remainder of the week was sunshine all round with temperatures soaring to 12 degrees (that’s hot when you’re skiing!).
I used the trip as an opportunity to blow the dust off my camera and actually take the first photos since the cruise in February. I’ve put them all in my gallery but for privacy reasons, only those who were on the trip can get to them. Rest assured, there’ll be more galleries popping up from now on.
Anyway, that’s the end of the ski season for this year. I’m even considering lashing out and buying my own equipment for next year but that depends on how much skiing I plan to do!
